Opener!

Heylo everyone!
This is for Lighthouse Bible study for this summer :))

I have been planning some things, and working with Shelly and others to get things set in motion for this summer!! As you very well know, I write books in my messages, so prepare to read, and PLEASE read so that you're not lost ;)

Here are the changes and events for the summer:

1. Our first Bible Study for this summer will be on May 22nd (Tuesday) at 7:41pm at the Midnight Rooster (unless location changes, in which case, I will notify you), you will need your Bible, an optional pen and paper if you want to take notes, an open heart and open mind, a thirst for fellowship, and a desire to know God's heart and calling on your life.

2. Since it is tricky for me to be in Sunday School every week (the weekend is the only time I have to do things) I decided, with convo between myself and Shelly, that I will not hold Sunday school. However, for those of you who attend St. Luke or wish to, I encourage attending Sunday morning worhip! Pastor Phil will be leaving soon - don't want to miss his last sermons - and the new pastor sounds like a pretty cool guy - don't want to miss his first sermons.

3. Instead of Sunday school on Sunday mornings, I have been thinking up plans for a young adult/college age focused worship service at St. Luke on Sunday nights. I mentioned this to the praise band a few months ago, and I intend to work with them still in the coming weeks leading up to our first Sunday worship service. Most times it will consist of a time for praise and worship with someone to lead in a sermon-like setting; other times, it could just be praise and worship. It is unofficial when this will start, but it will most likely be launched sometime in June - I'm very excited! And for those of you who will be spending most of the summer away from Hartsville, you can always stop by when you're here on the weekends!

4. I know some of you have already told me that you will be gone for the summer, whether it be for camp, work, school, moving or just living in your college cities, and that's perfectly fine! Keep us updated on events in your life and how God is working in you and through you! I will be posting a blog every once or twice a week so you can be filled in on what goes on with us here in Hartsville. Included will be the lesson we go over on Tuesday nights, and thought and encouragement that I discover to share throughout the week. I will list the URL of this blog on the Lighthouse group page everyweek, or just send it to you in an email.

5. Speaking of email... can you each please email me your email and phone numbers to jessica.greve@mailbox.ciu.edu - I ask just in case I need to send out something important, or last minute notices. Thanks!

6. For Bible Study: I took your requests and comments into consideration a few months back when I sent out the first facebook message; during Bible study, we will be going through the book of James! And every other week, we will spend a bit of time in another area of the Bible to be refreshed by ALL of God's word, not just a part of it. For Sunday nights: undecided, but you will know soon enough.

7. Some of you might be wondering why you have been included in this... you've graduated high school. That's pretty much it. If you're still clueless, we had Bible study every Tuesday last summer = continuation this summer. If I have forgotten anyone, which is not uncommon, please add them into the conversation. And feel free to invite people :)

8. One more thing, we will be participating in local missions this summer - things like the soup kitchen or visiting a sick person, or the elderly, and just spending time with people. Be prepared to share God's love with every bit of His creation! We'll also have nights thoroughout the summer to hang out as a group of friends (like a movie night, or so on).

I do believe that is all I have to say... for now. I will keep you all updated on future notifications. Thank you for reading this far, don't ask me to shorten my messages - it ain't happenin'.

REMEMBER: May 22nd; Midnight Rooster; 7:41pm; Bibles.

Love you all!
Jessica
