What To Expect From This Summer

  In less than a week, we will have our first Lighthouse Bible Study for the summer!  I know I keep reminding you of this, but I'm so excited to bhave everyone back and new people to be there!!  I wanted to post a blog explaining to you a few things we might talk about about this summer, or definitions for things that might come up, websites that are good to reference for Bible knowledge, and so on.  This one shouldn't be too long, but this is only one that you can come back and reference :)

Biblegateway.com is a great place to find Scripture in all translations of the Bible and there are places for devotionals, and listening to the Bible read allowed - it's great.  If you have a chance to, check it out and see what other help you can find.

"Marketplace" - this is the term used on the mission field to describe a person whose goal is to spread the Gospel, but all the while works doing something else (i.e. business person, manager, teacher, etc.)  The mission field is everywhere, but these people find the mission field in the MArketplace where doors can be opened on more sociable levels.

"Tentmaker" - these are the people that you find in the "marketplace" as far as missions go.  These are the people you hear about in places like Africa and Asia who are doctors; their mission is to take care of the sick and bring good health to the people there.  All the while, they gain the trust of the natives where they're at and grow friendships with them so that they cannot only help heal their body, but also bring restoration to their souls. :) Make sense?
